The arrival of a number of new products and innovations on the stand of WNT at MACH 2016 was extremely well-received by visitors. Key among these launches are the new double-sided 90 degree shoulder milling system and the next generation tool vending system Tool-O-Mat 840.
The 4910 series square shoulder indexable insert is capable of creating a precise 90 degree cutting profile and with eight useable cutting edges per insert is also highly cost-effective. With the inserts also benefitting from WNT’s Dragonskin coating technology and the cutter bodies having a unique durable nickel-plated coating, both insert and body life are extended, allowing much improved cutting data to be achieved. “The 4910 milling system was extremely well received at MACH with many visitors recognising its potential for cost savings in this area of machining,” says Glenn Stanton, UK S& Ireland Sales Manager, WNT (UK).
Also generating lots of interest was the new tool vending system from WNT. Tool-O-Mat 840 is a significant development in allowing smooth management of tooling supply. The new vending system has capacity to store up to 840 tools with control being provided by a PC-based touchscreen interface. This control allows detailed monitoring and reporting of tool usage and automatic re-ordering of tools, with WNT managing all of the back office and replenishment for customers. MACH 2016 was the first public appearance of Tool-o-Mat 840 and by the end of the exhibition WNT had confirmed 28 units had been ordered. “Tool-O-Mat 840 is taking tool vending to the next level. And we were really encouraged, not only by the orders we received for the system, but also the volume of interest in the system. With over 1200 visitors to the stand during the week we are extremely pleased by the overall response and enquiry level which will keep us busy in the weeks to come. The overall positive attitude of people coming on to the stand was also very encouraging, providing an optimistic outlook for UK manufacturing in general.”
