WNT (UK) will be focussing its activities at the forthcoming Subcon Show (2 - 4 June 2015 at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham) to highlight the productivity gains that can be achieved through use of its latest range of innovative indexable insert cutting tool grades. The star of the show will be the groundbreaking Dragonskin products whose performance are becoming legendary due to the performance gained by this newly developed tool coating. All of which can be seen on stand S318 within the BTMA pavilion.
Dragonskin coating technology enhances tool life in combination with the latest high performance substrates and geometries, the result being increased durability, faster cutting speeds, and improved process security across a range of turning and milling applications. The inserts are delivering quantifiable productivity gains of up to 80 per cent, across all five ISO material groups, providing users with a significant competitive advantage over existing tooling solutions. In addition to the Dragonskin coating, the inserts for turning applications also benefit from the availability of WNT’s latest chipbreaker geometry. The XU chipbreaker is designed for close contour machining and general turning, overcoming many machining problems, especially where excellent swarf control is required, in these applications. The XU chipbreaker is available on inserts in the CNMG, DNMG, VNMG and WNMG ISO insert styles.
“With the Dragonskin and the XU chipbreaker, in particular, being targeted at turning applications it made sense to partner with the BTMA (British Turned Parts Manufacturers Association), and exhibit as part of their pavilion. There members and other sub-contract manufacturing businesses are ideally placed to take advantage of the increased performance and productivity that Dragonskin is capable of delivering. Throughout the exhibition WNT’s Technical Sales Team will be on hand to discuss specific machining issues with visitors and suggest the most efficient and cost-effective cutting tool and workholding solutions,” says Glenn Stanton, UK & Ireland Sales Manager, WNT (UK).
